Xiaomi Releases Mini PC

“Mini mainframe PC” has always been a popular PC category in the market and office users, it has a small size, sufficient performance, and does not take up much space, whether for home entertainment or work office is a good hand.

But the previous mini-computer products are expensive, and there are not enough mainstream brands to choose from. And now, as the “price butcher” Xiaomi has come over! It recently released the “Xiaomi 10 Gigabit Router”, but also launched the first Xiaomi “Xiaomi Mini Host”, the size of the palm of your hand.

This Xiaomi mini host is a deep cooperation with Intel to create, allegedly took 5 months to tune, its volume is only 0.444 liters (112 x 112 x 38 mm), smaller than the Intel NUC small box (similar length and width but thinner), while weighing only 473 grams, called “the smallest mainstream performance desktop host “.

The main casing of the Xiaomi Mini is made of the same CNC carving process as the Apple Mac Mini, a one-piece aluminum alloy that undergoes multiple processes such as CNC, metal sandblasting, anodizing, and delicate chamfering, making it durable, exquisitely beautiful, and delicate and warm to the touch.

In terms of configuration, the processor is Intel’s 12th generation Core i5-1240P, with 4+8 12 cores and 16 threads, and a maximum fury of 4.4GHz. The integrated 80-unit Xe core graphics card, with a standard base power consumption of 28W, claims that “performance can meet 99% of the needs of home scenarios”.

The cooling is equipped with a large-diameter fan and dual heat pipes, with a full-load fan speed of 4600 RPM and a cooling fin area of 44753 square millimeters, which is nearly four times that of mainstream gaming notebooks, and with a metal body, the performance of the whole machine can be stabilized at 40W, and it supports 7×24 hours of stable operation.

The host has three pre-set performance modes that can be adjusted in the BIOS, including Quiet mode 28W, Balanced mode 33W (default), Cool performance mode 40W, and even supports customization up to 50W.

In terms of storage, the host comes standard with 16GB DDR4-3200 dual-channel memory, M.2 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD with a maximum upgrade-able 32GB memory, 4TB SSD, and the ability to host a second SSD, but note that the length is limited to M.2 2242 and only supports SATA transfer protocol.

Other aspects are: 2.5G wired network card, AX211 Wi-Fi 6 wireless network card, Bluetooth 5.3, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, dual HDMI 2.0 ports for quad screen 4K output, three USB-A 3.2 and one USB-A 2.0 ports.

The operating system is loaded with genuine Windows 11, compatible with Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, and also supports the installation of MIUI+ to get Xiaomi Smart Ecology and connect Xiaomi phones and tablets.
